He began sketching shoes when he was a teenager. Later, he started learning drawing and decoration craft at the Académie d' Art Roederer. He says that his fascination with shoes began in 1976, when he visited Musée National des Arts d' Afrique et d' Ocean on the Avenue Daumesnil. He saw the ban on wearing high heels because of the condition of the floor. Then he came up with the idea that he will design shoes for the brave people who want to break the rules.

In 1990 he created the high heels, which conquered the global fashion market. His shoes are recognizable because of the red sole shoe, which has been patented. His trademark is also a high heel with a height of at least 120 mm and higher.

Until today, he is one of the best shoe designers in the world, where we have only tree great names: Christian Loboutin, Manolo Blahnik i Jimmy Choo.
