ANOTHER LONDON STAGING IN "KIJÓW" CENTRE

On November 6th at 6.30 p.m. in “Kijów” Centre, there are to be held another edition of the series "100% theatre in cinema". After performances like "Streetcar" and "Medea" it is time for "Frankenstein".

The author of the piece, based on the famous horror romance story by Mary Shelly, is Nick Dear.

The novel, written by English writer and published in 1818, tells the story of a scientist whose biggest dream was to unravel the mystery of life and death and who brought to life a monster composed out of human remains. The inspiration for the book was probably the swindle of gravediggers at the beginning of the seventeenth century, which had become the subject of many films and theatrical adaptations, not only of the Mary Shelly's narrative.

This time, the story of tragic fate of Victor Frankenstein will be directed by Danny Boyle, who returned to the theater after twenty years of working on films. In his artistic output he has, among all, such films as "Transpotting", "Heavenly beach" and "127 hours". He also won the Golden Globe and the Oscar for his film "Slumdog Millionaire" (2008).

In this version of "Frankenstein", which will be displayed on the screen in the “Kijów” Centre the role of scientist is played by Benedict Cumberbatch while the role of the monster took Jonny Lee Miller.

On theater season 2014/2015 in “Kijów” Centre there are scheduled three other retransmissions from London National Theater.
